Robert Carraher passed away on February 23rd, 2014 at age 77; just three days after his beloved wife Doris passed away. They resided in Bodega Bay in their home they built together in 1989. They were married for 53 years. They are survived by their children Cari, Randell and Russell. Sisters Dorothy and Wendy and four grandchildren Kevin, Jesse, Matthew and Eric. Many nieces and nephews as well as their dear friends.Memories & Condolences

Given the current climate surrounding the relatively recent tragic events in Canada (attack upon the guard at the Canadian War Memorial), we will no longer be answering questions relating to specifics regarding current security and armament at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. We appreciate your understanding.
Rest assured, that the US Army has the post secured as it has been since we started guard duty at the shrine in 1926.
